Washington State University (WSU) Human Resource Services (HRS) seeks an experienced Compensation Manager to join our customer-service-driven team. The Compensation Manager leads the compensation team in designing, executing and improving compensation programs. Responsibilities include developing salary structures, competitive benchmarking and improving compensation practices and procedures. This position administers university compensation programs in compliance with university policies and federal and state regulations affecting pay. Promotes pay equity through strong analytical skills and knowledge of compensation theory, including market data. REQUIRES A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in a field related to the functional managerial area which has included at least one (1) year of supervisory experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. Additionally Demonstrated professional experience in classification and compensation practices including interpreting and applying FLSA and other regulations affecting pay.Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.Demonstrated sensitivity to and desire to promote diversity.Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.A record showing commitment to customer service and the application of appropriate flexibility in response to issues and opposing points of view is required. PREFERRED Human Resource experience in a public higher education setting. Interpreting or applying labor laws, collective bargaining agreements, and contracts. Professional certification from a recognized human resource/personnel association. Experience with the implementation and/or administration of Workday financial management and human capital management software. Experience with statistical analysis This is a full-time, benefit eligible position located in beautiful Pullman, WA.
