Type of Service Engineering
Title Electrical Technician Level 2
Description Building and testing of various laser components (optical, mechanical, and electrical) in support of engineering development and pilot production. The engineering technician will work closely with other technicians and engineers in executing tasks that could include cable harness assembly, subassembly & box level assembly / test, thermal testing, fiber optic splicing, and other similar assembly and test tasks both in the R&D labs and on the pilot production line.
Mandatory Attention to detail with the ability to work on small intricate assemblies. Experience in wire routing and organization. Mechanical assembly history and familiarity with electrical systems and circuit boards. Good interpersonal skills, ability to multitask, good organizational skills, computer literacy, and a demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment. Ability to read blue prints, schematics, and drawings and following verbal and written instructions. Experience reading work instructions and performing tasks as per instructions
Desired Experience in wire routing or optics. Experience running, testing, and measuring lasers or complex optical systems.
Experience in handling fiber, fiber splicing equipment including fiber polishing equipment.
Experience in assembling electronics, RF, and digital circuits.
IPC solder certification
